EDUCATION

The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH

B.S. Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering | Biomedical Engineering Minor
Expected Graduation: May 2020

As a Biological Engineer at Ohio State, I am learning how to apply engineering principles and the problem-solving mindset to living systems and integrate knowledge from the sciences such as biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry, and ecology. An example of this work from my bio-systems class would be learning about the fermentation process that yeast undergoes, and then looking at it as a heat transfer problem to find the work necessary to keep a batch reactor at a certain necessary to brew beer in a large production facility.

Moving on, I hope that I will be able to use what I have gained from my time at OSU to become a productive member of an engineering team working in the environmental / waste mitigation fields. This area is interesting to me because I am passionate about the earth and hope to do work to make it a cleaner place.

To learn more about how engineering has made an impact on my life, and how I plan on continuing to grow and learn past college please read more in my essays here (Engineering Impacts) and here (Lifelong Learning).

I'm a firm believer that everyone you meet knows something you don't.
I also think the greatest thing we can do with our lives is learn as much as possible.
